:: European Day of Environment with AEGEE-SPb 7 June 2009 ::

This year AEGEE-Sankt-Peterburg took action and has organized the European Day of Environment in our city! These are the activities within the EDE, which took place from 28th May to 7th June:

1. The photo-exhibition within the topic "Everyday life" has already been taking place in the State University Higher School of Economics (Saint-Petersburg branch) for 3 weeks. At first we're planning the exhibition lasts for 1 week. The exhibition has become popular so we decided to extend the exposition.
Members of AEGEE - Sankt-Peterburg and other students were invited to share their experience as photographers. For the participation in the exhibition they had to prepare photographs within the topic of Environment and it's protection. These photos were collected and we've displayed them in the State University HSE. There are not too many photos as we expected to receive, but each of them worth an attention. Visitors of the exhibition are able to vote on the best photo.

2. A cleaning the Buttery Meadow in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure took place on 7th June. The weather conditions didn't let us to lead this outside event on 6th June as we planed it earlier. On 7th June the weather was fine and we were walking to the Park from the nearest metro station where we gathered. Main gardener gave us equipment and we began the work.

The Buttery meadow is the most important part of K.Rossi's palace and park ensemble so that it was a great pleasure to spent a few hours there working and making photos.
During the cleaning we discussed how to make our ecological footprint smaller. We'd like to thank the Environmental Working Group who prepared the "Green tips" and gave us ideas for discussions.

There were 10 participants (this number includes 2 very fresh and active members of AEGEE-Sankt-Peterburg).

3. Finally we decided to join The Green Finger campaign, painted our fingers by green colour and made pictures ourselves with the green index fingers. Thus we'd like to show that climate change affects all of us, and we have a responsibility to act and that through GreenFinger we have an opportunity to be heard.

:: Italian language courses for AEGEE-members 80% discount::

Are you a member of AEGEE? Study Italian in Italy with the 80 % discount!

AEGEE - Europe by the contribution of AEGEE-Cosenza has made agreement with School of Italian language ISCaPI about granting to members of AEGEE the big discounts: ISCaPI offers AEGEE members a special course fee for the 4-week Italian language and culture courses organized by ISCaPI at its schools in the cities of Cosenza, Fuscaldo, and Santa Severina in Calabria, Southern Italy. Two options are possible:

Option 1: Special Course Fee for AEGEE members is 600,00 (non-AEGEE close to 3000) and covers the following expenses: - Standard Italian language and culture course (80 hours classroom
lessons + 12 hours cultural courses)
- Meals and accommodation at the ISCaPI lodging facilities for the whole
duration of the course.
- Use of course material (textbook, CD Audio, workbook, slides, films)

Option 2: Special Course Fee for AEGEE members is 800,00 (non-AEGEE over 3000) and covers the following expenses: - Standard Italian language and culture course and Preparation Course for CELI/CIC Examinations (80 hours classroom lessons + 40 hours exam
preparation + 8 hours cultural courses)
- Meals and accommodation at the ISCaPI lodging facilities for the whole duration of the course.
- Use of course material (textbook, CD Audio, workbook, slides, films)

The students will be provided with a free travel service to and from the from Crotone, Paola and Cosenza train station. Other travel cost will not be
cover by the scholarship.

At the end of the course, following an evaluation, ISCaPI will issue a certificate of participation indicating the level of the course based on the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Council of Europe 2001) or an equivalent scheme. Membership acknowledgement in AEGEE provides by the presence of a member card and the confirmation letter from the local board.
